see oils seem to have families, kendall is bp amoco, motorcraft is ford, ect ect. what would be an oil chrysler would use in a neon? i have a 1995 SOHC model. curious to know, thas all; )
I don't know what chrysler would use, but your car will be fine with any decent quality 5w30. I've run Castrol GTX and Syntec and Valvoline Synpower (the latter two were before I found this site). With no problems. My motor never lost more than a quart of oil between changes until I tried a 5k mile OCI with Mobil 1 at 140k miles, so take that for what it's worth.
Kendall is Conoco-Philips, which also produces "Motorcraft" oil and Philips66 TropArc.
BP-Amoco owns Castrol...
If it were my Neon, I'd probably use any quality SM 10w30 of your choice in summer, and then do the same in a 5w30 weight for the rest of the year, and if one doesn't put many miles on it, just stick with 5w30...
