I recently bought a 2019 Ford Raptor with 52,000 miles. I did some research and found that the oil had been changed between 7,000 and 10,000 miles each time. Ugh.

So, I’m contemplating using Valvoline Protect and Restore at 3,000 mile intervals for a few changes.

I really know nothing about the oil except what I’ve read. It seems that it might be a good idea but I thought I’d pass it by you experts for some solid advice. Thanks in advance.

vrp 5w-30 is ok. I'd rather run m1 ESP and change in 4-5k and mobil claims it can do some cleaning on their web page but they don't advertise it.

I ran Mobil 1 EP 5W30 in my 2019 and 2021 EB Raptors and changed at 5,000 miles. Enjoy the truck, got a pic?

Yep…love it!

I do need some tires. Any recommendations for A/T skins?? The BFGs are 3/4 shot and loud as heck. Looking for something quiet

I would assume that is a 3.5 EcoBoost. I would start using 5w30 Pennzoil Ultra Platinum at a 4,000 mile interval.

I was about to write 10 quart sump not a big deal, Now I see on the Amsoil capacity guide The G code 3.5 takes 6 quarts.
Sounds like you have a handle on it.
Hope you find some nice meats for that thing. Enjoy!

Michelin LTX and continental terrain contact have the best reputation for being quiet AT tires. Check out tire racks list of “on road all terrain” tires and decide on which brand you want to try. For me, I have a set of wheels w HT tires (Bridgestones) and another set of wheels w KO2s

My ‘19 STX is tuned up by 5 Star Tuning quite a bit hotter than your stock Raptor. My personal oil of choice is HPL No VII Euro 5w30, and I’ve got a UOA from 14,400 miles that shows their oil is more than up to this task. I’ve been running their oil for the past ~54k with great results.

10,000 mile OCI on a twin turbo V6 that is moving a monster of a truck. I am not an expert but that is just wrong. Not to mention people drive these Raptors like maniacs.

I totally agree. I think 10,000 mile oil changes on any truck is a bad idea. That’s why I thing about valvoline restore….i bet there’s some crud in there. I guy always had it serviced at a Ford dealer and they typically use semi-synthetic which is not rated for 10k. Ugh

You bought a Raptor so money shouldn't be an issue. Order 5 OCI worth of HPL. 10k mile oil changes left some crap there surely.
Money is an issue for everyone these days. That’s why I bought a 2019 for half the price of a new one.
