I guess he'd just need to keep that engine cool. Can he change to a cooler thermostat? Or is there aftermarket steel manifold to replace the plastic one?
Forget a syn. Its going to be driven short miles with lots of stops and starts then I'd use the cheapest 5w-20 on the shelf and change it early to combat fuel dilution.
Put a can of mos2 in there as well. It will pay for itself in fuel savings alone on the first 2 tanks of fuel.
