At least some of them did.

Ordered from Summit Racing. I got these 4 RP filters, and 4 Fram Racing HP19's will be here next week!!

Now I just need to decide on an oil...

These RP's and Fram HP 19's are for my new Truck

I apologize in advance for asking, but what exactly is the goal in using a racing filter on a one ton pickup?

Yeah, I don't get it either.

It's a synthetic filter with wire backing with nearly identical efficiency as a Frame Ultra, but with better flow. So these Frames HP filters will be my "winter" filters as this truck will be short tripped nearly all the time.

Do you care to explain yourself??

I'm a BITOG'er....I can get excited about oil. This is the first BRAND NEW car I've ever owned. I wanted to "over-indulge" a bit on the first 50k or so miles of oil changes and filters.

For me, it's kind of nice owning a "virgin" truck.... As I'll always know EXACTLY what she has been fed and how she's been taken care of.

I'm with you there. I've owned only one new vehicle in my life (1995 Subaru Legacy LS) so I know how you feel.....and this was before my BITOG days.

I'll never own another new car but a new truck can be a smart purchase as old ones for sale are frequently worn out.

My fault. I originally posted something a lot less nice with regards to the two people asking about your filter choice.

I decided not to feed the trolls and my ninja edit caught car51 out.

I personally feel you've chosen two of the best filters money can buy, and I'd be running an HP20 myself if Fram hadn't chosen to add a bypass valve into a filter application originally designed without one.

Yeah Phishin ill take a shot. Filters are in my book equal to fram ultra. They are NOT racing filters. Explained

I hear you on the brand new truck. It's a great feeling, isn't it?!

My only brand new truck (2001 Dodge Ram) is still my only driver after 17 years and 270,000 basically trouble free miles, I'm sure because I baby it.

Insurance costs and license fees are a pittance compared to a brand new one not to mention sales tax. Those reduced costs will come to you as the years roll by.

Hopefully the manufacturer cared as much about that truck as you do. Good luck!

Average driver accumulates 12K in yearly miles. Why buy eight filters for that new truck?
Do you drive excessively.... long distances to work?
Congrats BTW. Haven't had a new vehicle in 14 years now. Can't afford them anymore.

Phishin, it's obviously your money, so caveat emptor.

But in BITOG spirit, the LS is not an engine that's tough on oil. There have probably been 500+ million miles accumulated on LS engines in what certainly qualifies as severe service on plain oils like VWB, PYB, Kendall, etc along with OCODs and Tornolators, and they still provide great service. About the only thing that will kill an LS in normal service is an oil pump failure, a DOD lifter failure, or somebody who used the Comp Cams roller rocker conversion kit

That being said, nice truck, and know there's no worries or benefits to a $75 oil change vs. a $25 oil change on these engines.

Happy for you on your new truck. Hope you get much happiness and many trouble free miles out it!
