Oil filter recommendation

Hey guys, I know the Fram Ultra is one of the major top dog filters around here and I happily run it on my truck, but I'm looking for a filter recommendation for my wife's 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6 V6. I looked on the Fram website and they don't make an ultra cartridge filter for this vehicle (they do have a extra guard and a tough guard). What are some good cartridge filters I should look in to? I change her oil based on the change engine oil soon light which usually comes on around 5k-6k miles.

Is that not the engine that has issues with aftermarket filters and there was a change in design around that time as well?

If I am right about that I would run the Mopar filter ...
 
The design change was before 2014 because my 2014 uses the new type filter.

There aren't many "premium" choices, I agree. I actually have a Microgreen in ours right now, but that was a big waste. Its made in China. I gave it a good inspection and it doesn't suck so I used it, but I'll be going back to the standard Fram or Wix filters next time.

K&N makes a synthetic-media filter for that application (K&N PS-7026) but made in Korea and dubious details on its filtration specs.
 
Mopar. MO349 if it's the same as the 3.2 V6. Walmart has them for like $10 but the local dealer actually sells them for $7, so worth trying your dealer. I don't have a special deal or anything with the dealer.

I believe the OEM filters are made by Hengst.

Wix will be making an XP for this application soon, but it's not out yet. WL10010XP

I thought the Fram Ultra for the Pentastar was out already! XG11665, made in Korea.

There's also the Ecogard Synthetic filter on Rock Auto, S10040

I don't think so, the spin on Mopar filters are without a doube rebranded Purolators. Curious thing about them though is all the one's I've looked into have holes in the center tube. Maybe Mopar said no to louvers for their filters?
 
I just checked, Amsoil does not make a filter for it yet. They do make a Wix for that application.
In my experience with cartridge filters, the Wix hold up well.
Not sure how the Frams for this application are doing, I know a couple of their cartridge filters got some bad reviews on this site.

I would go Wix or OEM Mopar.

I know, I'm just saying they're probably Purolators too. Although, I don't think there's tearing problems with Puro cartridge filters or so I haven't heard.
 
The Fram Ultra XG11665 does indeed exist, and in fact, someone on BITOG even posted pictures of it . The Ultra for the Pentastar is made in Korea and has a plastic mesh like the Purolator Boss. Curiously, the CH10665 is US-made, but the Ultra is Korean

If those pictures are accurate then that filter doesn't work on the 2014 and up Jeep GC and they didn't list that one as working on the fram website. The 2014+ filter was redesigned and has a "tip" on one end now.
