I work driving an escort vehicle which is a 1996 Toyota Corolla. I drive a lot of miles and I noticed at the store the other day while looking in the book for filters that there are two oil filters that were used primarily on Toyotas that year. So I picked both of them up and compared. The oil filter for the V6 Camry is larger than the one for 1.8 Corolla but looks like the center hole is the same size and I think the rubber gasket will work. Is it OK to use the larger filter on the engine to improve the life of the filter and increase oil flow???? Will the bypass valve be effected causing an engine failure???? I use Mobil One Synthetic Oil 10w 30.
