Thanks for the diagram. It looks like a nice, simple design. I suspect the e-cores are plenty strong, but I'd feel better about putting one in my car if Champion Labs also manufactured nylon shark cages.

The center cage is stronger than the metal center tubes. The difference is that the tubes will just collapse ..while the cage will shatter. The metal tube will collapse at a much lower differential pressure than the cage will shatter/fragment.
