Thanks for the tip CharlesinCharge. The Jaguar has smaller diameter tube in the center of the oil fill hole that you are to slip the extractor hose over. I assume that it goes pretty far down into the pan, so probably works a bit better that just shoving a hose down the dipstick tube on cars that are not specifically designed for top extraction.
I'll be sure to work over the ol' drip pan anyway, it has saved my garage floor on more than one occasion when oil went in a direction I wasn't expecting.
