Posting for a guy on a boating web site,any tricks to help him out?
"Just completed a top end rebuild on my starboard engine; got the motor up and running for about five minutes, and decided it was time to change the oil, so I went ahead and put the oil change pump tube down the dip stick tube and start the pump. When I go to remove the oil pump tube I go to pull on it and it is STUCK in the motor. After about 30 minutes of pushing, pulling, shaking, I give up on it. Now I am stuck on what to do. I really don’t want to have to pull the engine to drop the oil pan to remove the tube. I did manually turn the motor over to see if the tube was hung in the crank, but it is not. If the tube stays in the oil pan will it cause damage? Anybody ever heard of this happening? What should I do? By the way it is a 2001 5.7L Chevy. Thanks for the help!"
