I recently purchased a 2008 Chevy Cobalt with the 2.2L.
Was peforming the first oil change since purchase and the oil drain plug did not seem in good shape.
I had a Dorman 090-91.1 that seemed like a match for the drain plug I removed with the exception the new Dorman is magnetic.
However when I look up the vehicle on Dorman's website it indicates the correct plug is a M090-175.1
Dorman list the 090-091.1 as 'Oil Drain Plug Magnetic, M12-1.75, 15mm head'.
Dorman list the 090-175.1 as 'Oil Drain Plug Pilot Point, M12-1.75, 13mm head'.
Looking at other specs the 090-091.1 is about 1.19 in shank vs 1.024 for the 090-175.1
Do you think OK to use the 090-091.1 drain plug in this application?
