While I love this site, and I think you are a fine mod, as well as a highly experienced member, I think Steve S had a valid point.
Most of us will never run an engine until it dies.
Most of us want an engine to last the life of the rest of the vehicle, and with sensible change intervals based upon the vehicle's use, almost any decent oil will get you there.
You know this better than I, since you have run a number of vehicles to very high mileage.
I do try to select a good oil and a reasonable change interval for my cars.
I also know from years of prior experience that the lesser oils of thirty years ago would also yield good engine life.
You just had to change them more often.
