I have a 04 suzuki verona with a i6 engine with a 7.5 qt. oil capacity. Would a syn-blend or a regular oil be better for 5000 mile oci.thanks for your help

Shoot, with just 2.5 l of displacement and 7.5 qt sump that engine will easily do that with any dino. Haven't heard much about that engine though other than I have an affection for I6 motors.

I think you'll do fine with a good dino in whatever weight your manual recommends. Some of the best regular oils have proven to be Havoline and Chevron Supreme (basically the same formulation just demends which is most available to you) they seem to consistintley have good UOAs and a good add pack, but any good SM rated oil should do. If you want a good syn blend Trop Artic appears to be a great oil and can usually be had for under 1.30 a quart. Also look for Mobil Drive Clean 5000 and 7500 these seem to be good oils to.

Just about any oil will work. I do believe however that there will be a day in the near future that will reveal the synthetic blends to be the best solution for normal automotive use. I would try MotorCraft synthetic blend, the 5W-20.
