I'd like to hear from anyone running a pre-oiler on the street.

I run a pre-luber, I have it set up like this: It's a small pump that mounts to the fender well of an 88 E-150, (I am the original owner). There is a fitting that replaces the drain plug, and then a fitting that goes into the oil sending unit hole on the block. The oil sending unit is then screwed into this fitting and the oil is pumped from the oil pan, thru a very fine mesh, and into the oil sending unit port (via high pressure oil resistant hoses).

I have it hooked to a toggle switch. Whenever I start up the van, I turn the pump on first, and watch the oil pressure gauge rise to the normal range then start the van and shut the pump off. When I do an OC I pressurize the system before I start it. What a difference this thing makes in the winter time! After a long trip, I shut the van down and run oil thru the engine while its off, this aids in cooling it down better.
