UC Santa Cruz is as if someone took a national park and built a college campus right in the middle. Believe it or not, I have another youngun going there. They might need a vehicle if they can't get campus housing next year. Is your brother still operating the shop? You used past tense....

Don't believe the hype.

The Seattle area is great, but desirable locations eventually get expensive.

Washingtonians have gone too long with the poor & middle class bearing the tax burden (regressive sales tax) for those that make millions every year. A vocal minority (most of whom will never pay this tax) are creating fear over this issue.

As for mechanics & auto work, I would find a shop outside the city. Tacoma and Everett are not far.

Is she really going to live in the city, or commute like most do?

It isn't hype. Reality. The tax ply was to pave the way for an income tax for all. It's coming.
