Oil change shops in Seattle

You must know a lot of people who make multiple millions a year! We'll see how many actually make the move out. History shows it's not that many. Also the tax doesn't even take effect until 2028 or so. lol

Until you need a doctor...
There are plenty of doctors in Idaho and Montana. They have the internet there and everything, LOL. Also clean air and the ratio of sane to crazy people is a lot better.

OP - I think you have a good opportunity to fly up there every few months or so and check out the car and get the oil changed. Plus its a good check in for the kid. ;)

I have a friend that moved from this area to Boise. Absolutely loves it.

UC Santa Cruz is as if someone took a national park and built a college campus right in the middle. Believe it or not, I have another youngun going there. They might need a vehicle if they can't get campus housing next year. Is your brother still operating the shop? You used past tense....
Greg owned and operated Comprehensive Mechanics on the West Side, off Mission and Fair. He got cancer and we lost him in Aug 1995. Greg was 44.
The current owner is a pretty straight up guy. Westside Auto

I know what you are paying to send your kid there... Ouch! I helped my niece, Greg's daughter, after he died.

Glad you're keeping up with the physician staffing situation in Idaho.

The horror story I have heard is about living in Seattle.
All true as well. Certainly nothing close to my real home of Huntington Beach, Ca. (not even close). The area is like a bowl of granola...Chock full of nuts, fruits and flakes.

I'm sorry for your loss. Too young.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll keep that in mind when getting a vehicle for the one in Santa Cruz.

I took our Mazda CX-5 to the local Ford/Mazda dealer here in Paducah and had a tire rotation and oil and filter with sythetic oil. When I left to go home the motor sounded noisey so I stopped and checked it out. Tech had left the top loose on the air filter housing and it was just sitting on top. Then when I got home I checked tire pressure. The pressure was all over the place and one tire was at 18 and only one was at 35 lbs. I changed the oil and filter at the next change. I wrote them a scathing review when they asked if I was satisfied. I won't be going back there. WalMart does better than that.

aurora auto repair, the owner there is Neil and every time i've been in his shop, he is working on a very wide spectrum of cars.
ignore all the other recommendations, send them here first

I use Neil for basic maintenance like oil changes and cabin filters and whatnot for a 2017 540i. i do bring my own oil and filters and parts, i don't know if your loved one can source that stuff for themselves, or if Neil would charge extra to acquire it for them

When I've taken my vehicles to a local Walmart TLE to get a battery, its been a good 3 hours. My concern is that long waits might mean car maintenance isn't done in a timely fashion. But you are making a good point about little to upsell.
good, cheap, fast

pick 2....thats all you get

Don't believe the hype.

The Seattle area is great, but desirable locations eventually get expensive.

Washingtonians have gone too long with the poor & middle class bearing the tax burden (regressive sales tax) for those that make millions every year. A vocal minority (most of whom will never pay this tax) are creating fear over this issue.

As for mechanics & auto work, I would find a shop outside the city. Tacoma and Everett are not far.

Is she really going to live in the city, or commute like most do?

Time for to grow up and be responsible for herself. It's just an oil change. She can go to a dealer and just tell them upfront that's all she wants. Maybe you are not giving her credit for what she is capable of doing. Sounds like up till now she has been doing fine in getting you to do the oil changes for her.

That is fairly close to the campus, so I'll definitely put this one on a short list of go-to places. Thanks a lot.
