Why don't you do it for her then?My Mom was quoted $144 for a Mazda Cx-5 oil change. Iis that excessive?
I haven’t paid for an oil change in years myself…
Why don't you do it for her then?
Maybe OP leases and/or has a a maintenance planWhy don't you do it for her then?
Maybe she lives 1000 miles away and the roundtrip plane ticket would eat up all the savings of diy.Why don't you do it for her then?
I assume you checked the oil level ?Just Saturday had my sisters CX5 oil changed and tires rotated at the Ford/Mazda dealer. Price was $109.00 but here is what made me mad. The car sounded different when I took off. Then had neglected to put the top back on the air filter. I put it back and that fixed that. Next thing was the TPS started going off. Got home and put my trusty Ryobi tire pump on the tires and 3 tires were at 22.5 lbs and one was at 35.5. The door sticker calls for 34 lbs per tire. Anyhow, the monkeys did not do a good job. Maybe your Mom's monkeys are smarter and charge more.
The original reason I started doing my own OCI's and joined BITOG. My new Mazda dealership charges $130 for an oil change and filter. Even at inflated prices I can do the same change for under $30. I did that using Mobil 1.My Mazda dealer charges $110. That includes tire rotation and a check of all fluids, brakes, suspension and chassis etc. They do a video of the inspection which is sent to my iPhone as I sit in the waiting area.
The price difference may be due to local and state regulations and things like disposal and environmental fees.
