NO!
This is the INTAKE for the PCV air.
This is not usually even filtered, just in the air cleaner housing for emissions when a backfire occurs - something like that.
Between the PCV valve and the intake manifold is correct.
Make it easy to get to, because you will have to be emptying it.
And probably between the valve covers piping and the intake manifold as well?

I was wondering if there was a way to plumb it like this also. On my civic, I get oil going from the valve cover into the engine air intake. I thought flow should be going the other way.

You are right - the flow DOES go the other way. But oil from mist, high pressure blowby at full throttle, and vapors when shut off do end up in the intake line.
Big amounts generally mean the PCV system is not breathing - a plugged valve.
