Oil Capacity

Yes, stock wet sump, and yes, it does make a difference. (Just ask anyone on www.frrax.com, or any of the C5/C6 people who open track/road race their Vettes with stock capacity/type sumps.)

So at hot idle/wot it is helpful then? I mean I guess it really won't matter much if your racing is done a 1/4 mile at time I guess, but for me it is something to think about.

4.0L jeep holds 6 qts. My Peterbilt holds 12 gallons.

my GMC Sierra 4.3 takes 4.5qts and I just toss 5 in it.
my 5.3l silverado takes 6qts
my Corolla takes 4.5 (I have been debating using 5 quarts vs 4.5 and getting the oversized YZZF1 filter.)
my jeep 2.5 takes 4 quarts

The American/metric system will not take hold for at least another 50 years. Horsepower just sounds so much better than watts.

It's done less for those reasons than for the pickup starvation/'sloshing' during VERY high g, long, sweeping corners encountered in open tracking/road racing.

2.5 Td benz = 7.5qts, the new ford 6.7 TD is like 13qts( I think) !! About the only thing I buy at walmart is oil.
