Just wanted to get some feedback from other Ford Powerstroke owners with the 7.3 diesel about these oils.

I own a 2002 F350 7.3 with 52000 on the odometer with no complaints. I ahve always used the MC15w40 oil and the MC #1995 oil filter again with no complaints. The MC oil in the jugs are hard/almost impossible to find in my area. I have to buy 15 quart bottles to do an oil change, not my idea of an easy oil change.I will stick with the MC oil filter.

I hear many good things about Delo 15w40 and Rotella T 15w40.I have never used either, don't really know which would be the best choice in my rig. I'm waiting to hear the scoop on the new Rotella 15w40 that just came out a few weeks ago.

Thanks

You can sleep good at night with just about any of the major brand hdeo out there. Rotella, delo, delvac, and the valvoline are all good oils. I have tried all of them and cannot see a large difference in any of them. I would recommend maybe using a synthetic version of them in the winter if it gets really cold where you are at. In north Texas we rarely get under 30f so I don't worry about it much. The 5w 40 stuff will give you better protection at start up if it is cold outside though.

tsmay51 hit it on the head. All the brands he listed are good oils, and will do fine. I have been using Rottela in my 2000 and my used oil analysis come back great with 90k on the clock

Here in Texas I run 15w40 conventional yr round. If I was somewhere it got really cold often I would use 5w 40 syn for a little more protection at start up during the yr it was cold.
