I changed the oil to GC 0w-30 in my riding mower with a 14.5 B&S and now I have oil blowing out the carb!!!

update; changed back to straight 30w and it has quit blowing oil... what is going on???

Your crude B&S breather thing is screwed up. Try taking it apart and cleaning the wire screen.

Odd that it does it with one oil and not another.

Odd.

GC is a thick 30 weight at temp.

I wonder if it's something about the formula which allows it to get past the rings? Not many people using GC in mowers. Some, but not many.

I would also suggest that the rings and/or cylinder walls have some scoring in them allowing for the oil to get up past the rings ... blowby,

Sump might have been over-filled as well.

oil level was at the full mark, I didn't even make one lap around the front yard. It was flooding the carb so bad it would stall the engine...
