Hey im new here and i have been searching around a bit.

I just picked up some Mobil 1 synthetic 0w-40 oil and a K&N HP-2002 oil filter. Are these a pretty good selection. My car has some basic bolt ons and is daily drivin in Nebraska, so in temps in summer from around 40ºF to over 100ºF. I also race it a little but not enough to be a track car.

Ive heard that German made Castrol is the best but i cant find any locally, is i went with Mobil 1.

I usually run Mobil 1 5w30 in the winter BTW. And i change my oil/filter before every 3000 miles is up.

you can get the german gold castrol in all of the omaha and council bluffs autozones. its the 0w30 with the "european formula" on the front of the bottle.

I said LT1 which was in the 93-97 f-bodies, the LT-1 was in earlier performance cars. Yes the dash does make a difference.

Well they are building an Autozone right across the street from Advance in Bellevue so ill have to check it out to see if they carry it when they open.

And, of course the b-bodies (some Caprice/ all Impala SS and Buick Roadmaster) and the D-body (Cadillac Fleetwood) from 1994-1996. They had iron heads and a milder cam, but otherwise pretty much the same as the F-body.

M1 Ow40 is an awesome oil for the LT1. My Formula has done very well on this oil. I've run it in warm and cold weather both with no problems at all.

I'm about to give GC a shot though!
