I would like to get oil analysis on two cars; a 2015 Corvette with 19k and a 2022 PHEV Lincoln Corsair with 21k. I see a few companies and each company has multiple options. For example, Blackstone Labs has dozens of choices ranging from $10 to $250. Their Standard Analysis is $40.

Any recommendations on a company and do I need anything other than the standard analysis. Thanks.

BTW, what quantity is the oil sample and the best way to contain it? A wipe of the dipstick or suck it out of the oil fill cap into a bottle? Thanks.

Just found a local place--ALS Tribology. $29.24. Anybody familiar with them or any other place in the Kansas City area? There are some CAT dealers further away.

They're going to send you a small collection jar. You want to collect oil from the stream while the oil is draining.

I've been using Oil Analyzers from Amsoil for 10 yrs
I recommend getting it with the Prepaid UPS

I use the dealer to change oil on both cars. Is it OK to pump out of the oil fill cap? Rather not have to depend on somebody else to collect sample.

Wouldn't you have to pump out of the dipstick tube? The oil fill cap is just going to have you trying to pump oil out of the head, which just just be oil clinging to the valvetrain. You won't be able to get a sufficient sample from that.

ALS tribology is ok, but they are slow. They are who WIX filter uses.

You may be correct. On the very first oil change the dealer did on the Corvette, they overfilled it. I used a pump to get some out but it was a big mess. Can't remember if it was the dipstick or fill cap, it was ten years ago.
