oil additive dosage pump?

I just got to thinking how inconvenient it is to have to dose my oil with Lube Control every once in awhile...

Is there any dosing device which could be used to add Lube Control at a rate of 1-3 oz per 1000 miles to the motor oil? Then you could just make sure to keep your LC tank filled and not worry about adding it every 500 or 1000 miles.

Just thinking out loud. This is the kind of thing that could go a long way to increasing acceptance of an otherwise superb product to the mass market.

My only problem is finding a container that does not leak and in the case of FP, one that will poke that little flap open.

How about a squirt bottle like a liquid handsoap bottle the squirts out the appropriate amount for whatever miles you cover in one typical tank of gas.

You do check you oil every fill up, don't you?

So far, a Lucas fuel conditioner yorker bottle has worked great for my Fuel Power usage, except the yorker bottle cap split open recently

Having a small bottle you could squirt in every time you fill up your gas tank, you would have to fill your gas tank after the same number of miles every time, not to mention continually having to refill your micro bottle. I'm trying to make this easier, not more cumbersome.

Seriously, if you could just keep a reservoir of Lube Control topped up and know that you're getting the needed dosage in your motor oil, that would make it *so* much easier for people who aren't as car aware as the average BITOGer.

I have read some posts about a specific component of LC evaporating off hence the repeated dosing instructions and believe just underhood heat would cause this same thing in the resivoir.

As far as dosing I dropped the $$$ to get a 32oz. bottle with the 1oz. measuring chamber since thar just stays in the garage it is fine by me. For FP I just use the 16oz. bottle you get free with an order of 2 gallons or you can buy those from LCD as well. I am actually using 'brew at an ounce per 5 gallons so that gives me roughly 4 refuelings before I have to refill the bottle which is fine by me.

Well, guess I'll have to invent my own dosing mechanism someday!

That MMO oiler would work for FP ...but LC would require something different.

The only thing that I could think of for LC would be a chemical metering valve. This would be really hard to dial in. It would require gravity feed and therefore the drip may not be linear as the tank drained. You would have to fill it and monitor it over a thousand miles and see if you used an oz. Any adjustment would be extreme in that level of flow. Any debris would clog it. Within a week you would gladly just add the proper amount at the proper time.

I know people talk about certain components of LC evaporating off but, I have not noticed a significant drop in the oil level in my motor. Would you not have to worry about overfilling the crankcase over time? I guess that would not be an issue in a motor that uses oil but, mine is pretty stable and I rarely, if ever, have had to add any makeup oil.

I use both LC and FP and dispensing them has been a non-issue for me so far.
