Good news for us working stiffs, but I'm still planning on buying a 2008 VW diesel (for my wife), because of the great mpg's. I wonder if the '08 Eurovan will come with a diesel option. That's what I'd really like to have. For that matter, I wonder is the Eurovan even sold in America anymore???

I seriously don't expect it to go down. Too many issues..Iran, Hurricanes, China/Russia/India people wanting to drive cars. If gasoline does drop a bit people will just drive more and bring the price up to where it is.

People are comfortable or at least resigned paying +/-3.00 .

I agree with Al.

We are told it's our position against the $US, Cost of oil in $Us/bbl etc.

Our dollar goes up, price per barrel goes down, our fuel price still goes up.

They are dicking with you/us.

Hold out the carrot that prices will fall, and we continue to "push through" the current prices.

Which remain...the same

Nope, the VW T5 is not sold in NA, but next year a van designed jointly by VW and Mercedes-Benz should be available.

Still $3.04 to $3.09 here, down from $3.19. Local price gouging is a tradition here.

Yesterday I could've sworn I heard someone on TV say "experts" have revised their summer gas price predictions up a nickel to $3.30.

Demand is infinite based on price and production is max'd. Any price fluctuation probably has more to do with currency drift ..or some pauses/gaps in buying power of the emerging new customers.

I can believe a $.50 drop will happen. It's already down $.40 in metro Detroit. It was $3.49 here just a couple weeks ago. Now most places are $3.05 - $3.09.

$2.75 this AM at the places I drove by on the way to work... not necessarily the cheapest shops around, but consistent and often-changing.

Three weeks ago I paid $3.60/gal to fill up. The last three weeks it has been going down and down. Average price is now $3.20/gal and I found a station that sells for $3.09/gal - over 20 cars in line per pump at that station.

If it goes down 50 more cents I'll be very happy. I'm planning to drive to Iowa (1,989 mile drive one way) to visit family next weekend.
