Could have left it on a couple more times at that OCI level. Does look like an bunch of stuff was caught in that short OCI, so maybe whatever oil you are using is doing some cleaning - ??In service for 3,600 miles and 4 months

The last filter had a lot of chunky stuff (carbon?) in it. The sediment in this filter is all very fine. LINK
How long have you been running M1 0W-40 in it?
It's been about 15k on 0w-40, after 15k of M1 0w-30 AFE, and I believe it was all dealer service before that (almost 110k).
Yup, I've seen M1 0W-40 liberate similar material from my own vehicles, not surprising.M1 0W-40 claims to have cleaning ability, which is being demonstrated by the chunky carbon stuff you have found in the filter.

What does OG stand for? And why RIP the ultra is still around? I know it's not wire backed..Great example of a tried & true filter that was around for many years (RIP OG Ultra). Thanks for sharing!
OG = "Original Gang" ... so it means the original wire-backed Ultra in this sense. What does OG stand for? And why RIP the ultra is still around? I know it's not wire backed..

He's RIP-ing the "OG Ultra" (the wire backed Ultra) ... not the Ultra in general.
Any oil consumption at all? Kind of wondering why the early change instead of 6 mos. or 5k miles? Thank you. From my 2013 Suburban 1500 5.3L with 139,400 miles. In service for 3,600 miles and 4 months with Mobil 1 0w-40 FS. Replaced with an Amsoil EaO17 and Mobil 1 0w-40 FS (SN).
