Great example of a tried & true filter that was around for many years (RIP OG Ultra). Thanks for sharing!

Could have left it on a couple more times at that OCI level. Does look like an bunch of stuff was caught in that short OCI, so maybe whatever oil you are using is doing some cleaning - ??

The last filter had a lot of chunky stuff (carbon?) in it. The sediment in this filter is all very fine. LINK

What does OG stand for? And why RIP the ultra is still around? I know it's not wire backed..
OG = "Original Gang" ... so it means the original wire-backed Ultra in this sense.

He's RIP-ing the "OG Ultra" (the wire backed Ultra) ... not the Ultra in general.

Any oil consumption at all? Kind of wondering why the early change instead of 6 mos. or 5k miles? Thank you.

Not a bit. It was a shortened OCI to have fresh oil for summer road trips (along with other maintenance), especially after finding all the junk in my last filter. LINK

That's my excuse, anyway ... sometimes the sirens' call is irresistible ...

I’ve got this exact filter on my wife’s 2016 Patriot; going to be on there a year in October and have about 6k on the oil and filter when I change it then.
