Officers Down

"He's not a risk"

(But he is crazy and has been acting nice for 2 years while waiting for his opportunity)

Violent criminals should always be restrained during transport...there is more care for officer safety at some traffic stops.

Ever watch how the RUSSIAN prisons keep capital criminals under control? We coddle them. Rehabbing idea never worked but, we still try I guess. Ed

I detest "she passed away." She was murdered/killed. RIP Officer King. That phrase always irks me. Writers minimize death.

My greatest wish in life. If every human on our planet would stop killing for twenty-four hours. Perhaps, we could evolve to an intelligent species. If?

Respectfully,

The read of Officer King: killed. How come inmates do not have handcuffs on the wrist which can be connected to a chain around their waist and a chain on their ankles,,
This is almost like another incident about a year or so ago where an inmate was not securely restrained....how many times does this have to happen??? I wasn't there so IDK...
Happened at the Douglas County Nebraska Sheriff's office about a year or so ago. One deputy survived.

Hate to have to say it this way, but these officers were killed by negligence, whether their own (not having the prisoner handcuffed with his hands behind his back in a way that he could not do what he did), or negligence of the department (lax policies and procedures).

When will they learn?

I know I'm crazy, but I actually read the article: "they transported a prisoner to the Wyandotte County Correction and Court Services Building"

I think prisoners that committed violent crimes should be transported in shackles, straight jackets, and have the equivalent of a taser collar with a button for both transporting officers. They want to act like animals, I think we should be happy to oblige them by treating them like animals.

Respectively

But there are so many that just "need killing" also how is every human on the planet actively killing people?

I agree.
The article states "He was able to disarm one of the deputies".....I wonder which one?

The dishonest media won't identify which officer was 'disarmed' by the perp because it goes against their AGENDA of 'DIVERSITY'......'Diversity' has become more important than competency....the MERIT system is dead.....PC rules....

Media is succeeding at getting you wound up!!! In the scheme of things in your life really worth the negative energy?

No...the 'AGENDA' is out of control.....Air traffic controllers being hired on race rather than merit....firefighters, police etc...hired on race, ethnicity, gender etc....Professors too....it's getting out of hand but the media doesn't talk much about it because they are down with it....DISHONEST...

So you just blindly assuming that the female officer was an EEO hire that was unqualified for her job? That is the very definition of sexism and the reason why EEO laws exist.

And it isn’t a news article. It is a memorial page for fallen law enforcement officials. Have some [censored] compassion for people. If you are so paranoid to think that a memorial website has an agenda you need to leave society. All you are doing is contributing to the further downfall of the world.

In this province, the policy for transport is for all prisoners, not just violent ones, at least in the major centres here, and it's been a very wise precaution. If you're being hauled into the provincial courthouse here for driving with an expired license and a failure to appear, you're going to get a ride restrained, and be brought in restrained.
