Hello all I am bringing this up today because I am wondering why/what makes these Kubota SVL sister batteries last so long?

We have 11 of these units in our construction company and I finally just replaced oem battery with 3700 hrs and 8 years old on a unit! Very impressed

Dealer says your not going to get the same quality as it if it came from Japan!

So what is the differences from Japan oem battery to ours here in the USA?

I can't speak for those in particular but sometimes you just get lucky. The battery in my Tercel is 12 years old if I remember correctly and still starts great. Had one in an engine driven welder that went 12 years of my ownership(don't know how old the battery actually was). The OEM battery in my F250 was 10 years old when it got weak.

On the other hand, I have some vehicles that need batteries every 2-3 years. Even a bad manufacturer builds a good product sometimes.

My Kubota B2650 still has it's original battery too but I don't have nearly as many hours. I have been thinking about getting a new one since it's much easier to deal with in summer than in January.

My 2006 Kubota L3430GST OEM battery lasted 19 years! Just replaced it last year. To be fair, I do keep it (and all my long term storage equipment) on a Battery Tender.

The OEM battery in my 2005 Kubota L2800 lasted until 2023. I never do anything but park it under cover. No tenders or anything

So by the looks of it does this possibly mean that Kubota has had a heavier duty battery built to their specifications for new tractors?

Only 8 years? You must have gotten a weak one. :) The made in Japan Panasonic FLA battery in one of my wife's cars almost made it a bit short of 10 years. Consumer grade batteries available here are not made to the quality they could be.

The Les Schwab branded battery in my old Chevy box truck is 10 years old. Mom and dad had an F150 that had the original battery for 13 years. Both batteries in my Powerstroke were crapped out after 2 years. Sometimes you get a good one, sometimes you don’t.

I wonder if they are built with additional internal bracing for severe vibration? Maybe they are robust AGM with a little extra? Maybe similar to a sailboat-ready odyssey or Trojan?
