Honda Thermostats and getting pricy! $35 plus shipping. I found a replacement Thermostat made by the Company in Japan that makes the Thermostat for Honda.

The only difference is the small piece of rubber installed on the tip of the tapered part of the brass. Does anyone know what the rubber is for?

TAMA on the left, Honda on the right.

The TAMA can be purchased under the MAHLE P/N TX14478D for $12 at AutoZone. Thanks.

Honda has the little rubber wedge and the little air bubble escape (?), probably features that they specified be added to tama’s standard design. I’d trust it more than I would a stant or motorad.

The TAMA also has the air bubble escape, I should have showed that in the picture. I agree with your statement about Stant or Motorad.
