Ode to my 2002 Cavalier...goodbye, friend!

I guess its not exactly respectful to your old car, but do you know anyone with some pasture? One last blast in the field is always fun! I did a few jumps in the old Sentra before the wrecker came to pick it up. It handled a couple feet of air surpisingly well!
Maybe you could try a smokey burn out too? Neutral drop with the parking brake on...
 
It's being driven to the dealers lot to trade-in in about an hour.

It's getting accolades for lasting 157k miles, and now being basically worthless?

I recently parted ways with my Saturn...it had bad front wheel bearings, slipping clutch, timing-chain rattle, blown stereo speakers and warped wheel hubs. I donated it to a local charity and they picked up my Saturn today...I got sentimental seeing it go and all the great periods of my life I had in it. Many people don't understand the relationship between man and machine...

Best of luck with the new Tribute and here is hopes to many future good memories to associate with your new ride!

My thoughts exactly. I'll be at that mileage soon myself in my Cobalt and have no plans to turn it in early. Its got a lot of life left in it.
 
My first car was a '98 Cavalier Sedan, 2.2L OHV, 3T40, Serial 8335403.
Overall, it was a good car. Served its purpose well, however sinfully slow. I remember using the A/C button for 'moar powar' when navigating Las Vegas traffic. I got it at around 50k. When we got rid of it with 80k, I could tell the trans was starting to slip and it had taken two collisions. One where it was rear ended by a 4Runner that totaled it and the other when it 'rear ended' a aero Grand Marquis so slightly I would have to point out the mark to you.

I know, bud, I know!

I was hoping to be one of the last, and for most of this decision, it was going to go that way...but....

In my city, at least, there are still a TON of these things on the road - they are all over the place.

So i won't 'miss' them for a while!

I'm having the same problem with Saturn drivers.

I'm wondering when I'll be the only one left in an S-series. (Although lately I keep contemplating something newer)
 
No. But then, you didn't spend a good portion of your childhood being carted around in it by your grandfather, lol.

Also, you are upgrading to a much less expensive car than I did as well.

Have you filled up the new hauler yet? I assume it has a 60L tank? I put $70 in the Tracker yesterday which was a bit painful.
Anyways I'm sure the tribute isn't much worse than the cavalier but filling from empty isn't fun!

They were pretty comfy to drive. I dunno. I just know that as much as I like my focus and our other fords, I'm starting to realize I'm really a Chevy guy at heart.
