The current fill in the Burb is PU and I want to make sure I make the most of this fill and do not dump too early. Current mileage is about 126k, OLM went off at just over 4k with the prior fill and about 4.5k before that (included a 800 mile all highway road trip). Driving style is pretty conservative with only occasional WOT runs to get up to speed on on ramps. Trips are mainly 26 miles roundtrip, mostly highway, and with 1.5 hours between outbound and inbound legs so the oil probably gets close to full temp but not all the way there. The car will occasionally get highway trips of 25 miles each way. Weather over the next 4-5 months should see daily highs from 75 to 100F. I will not be running a UOA as the next fill (and probably the 5+ after that) will be G-Oil as I work my way through my 45 quart stash. The engine no longer leaks oil and has burned maybe 0.5 quarts over the past 9,000 miles so I don't expect to need to add anything during this run. Filter is a Bosch Premium Filtech. No additives in the sump. MMO/TC-W3 mix in each gas tank at 1 oz/5 gallons.

I was thinking of resetting the OLM when I have about 3,000 miles on the oil and then changing when it tells me to, so at about 7,000-8,000 miles. Your thoughts?

For years we have been trained to do short OCI's by oil companies with some validity not knowing driving style or short trips. To lump everyone in that category if they are mostly highway miles was overkill but did not hurt anything either. You would be fine for what you are asking.

I have been using PU and Bosch Premium filters on my vehicles since WM had their closeout. I intend to go at least 7.5K. I'll decide when I get there whether or not to go 10K. I have a GM 5.3 and a Subaru 2.5 (NA), which are easy on oil and I know the oil and filter will handle 10K. I just need to see if I can handle it.

I wouldn't give 7-8K in your Suburban a second thought.

+1 - With highway miles, PU should be able to run a 8K OCI without blinking and have plenty of TBN to spare.

Ultra would have no problem going 8k in your vehicle. The only suggestion I have is to drop the MMO regimen and switch to a PEA based fuel system cleaner. I use Redline fuel system treatment cleaner but Techtron concentrate is also good. In my opinion using a PEA based product every 4k would be easier on your oil and more beneficial to your fuel system.
