I'm searching and searching but not finding a lot. We have an '06 Jeep Commander with the 5.7 Hemi. It's the same engine as in the other Hemi Jeeps and Dodge trucks.

How long are people going between changes? We're running Mobil 1 5W20 in it with PureOne filters and go 5K miles right now. I plan to do a used oil analysis on the next change to see myself. This engine will hopefully see a LOT of miles, probably 50K/year. So, I want it to last. Changing every 3K seems a waste when 95% of the driving is on the highway with the cruise set. Thanks!

Yes, keep with the OCI spec'd in your warranty. After 12-15k ..save the stuff and use it in another engine. You should be on the good side of breakin material removal.

You can obviously afford this ..but normally, for the sake of sensible economy, I'd recommend a dino for the short usage your getting out of the oil. But considering your fuel bill in the next year ..it will only amount to pocket lint. The time frame between changes will be the same. 10 oil changes ..or even 7 in any given year is way too often without some "nasty" factor to the service (dusty ..etc.)
