I have PP synthetic in my 4 cyl Highlander right now. I have been doing 5000 mi oci's.
Due to a death in the family I have to travel 1000 mi up, and 1000 mi back, all highway. I have about 4700 miles on this oil so far. Would I be safe traveling the extra 2000 mi over the oci, or should I change it now? It's awfully cold in the garage.

+1, My condolences!! You are good to atleast 7500 with PP so head out in cofidence

What kind of miles were those first 4700?

FWIW, I run 7000 miles - 70% highway - on another group 3 oil between changes in my turbo subie.

No need to with PP. It cleans fine without any additional additives.

Studebaker,

Sorry for your loss.

Anyway if you have a OLM monitor as I beleive you have in some form I'd just go by that to tell you when to handle your OCI's. Either case that PP you have is good until you get back home.

Sorry for your loss

If the car is under warranty, I suggest you stick to the recommended OCI. If not, I agree with the rest of the people here
