Had some leftover Chevron Supreme and decided to use it on my 2012 Malibu. As we all know, Chevron Supreme is not dexos approved but I figured I would still give it a shot. I'm thinking about using the OLM for this fill and then getting a sample on it. What do you guys think?

I drive about 35 miles each way using both freeway and highway with minimal stops. Oil filter is AC Delco filter. So far I have driven about 1200 miles and OLM is at 91%.

Based on what?
Based on my step-mom having mechanically the same car (2010 Pontiac G6) and it goes that far with the OLM on conventional and the oil is still golden. Also that he has the easiest driving commute possible.

Using the OLM is a great idea

Not being dexos1 approved means the OLM will be wrong. OLM assumes you are using an oil that fights deposits and wear as well as dexos1, which that conventional oil is not doing. Therefore, go down to 50% OLM to be certain, then get a dexos1 oil in there later.

You will likely be fine. Highway miles will not tax the engine too much. I have several "dexos" vehicles in my fleet and very few, is any ever see Dexos licensed oil (mostly corrections oil) and no major engine issues. Just a GM money grab. Not being Dexos does not mean that the oil does not meet the same requirements, it is just a mystery. If you have a warranty, you might want to keep up with it but otherwise it is a good oil.

Chevron (and Havoline) products normally turn in strong UOA even with longer drain intervals (sorry, I have Subaru examples booked marked)

But I did fine a GM V6 SS:
