I just wanted to run this by you guys/gals here at BITOG to see how it compares to Honda bike forums I post at. At the Honda forums, some recommend doing an OCI every 1000 - 1500 miles but they don't speify which oil they use.

The manual says every 2000 miles.

I'm thinking that if I run Delvac 15w40 and ride easy in TN, I can possibly go a year and no more than 3k-4k miles. Do you agree?

If it doesn't have a real full flow oil filter, the frequent change interval is as much to get crud out of the engine as anything. Better oil won't help with that so stick with the factory recommended oil change interval.

I too would stick w/the 2K OCI owner's manual recommendation, if only for the fact that most metric bike shops aren't well versed in repairing these A/T's. As such, shorter OCI's are the best (and only) insurance you have against a transmission failure, which might very well result in your bike going to a salvage yard (old Honda A/T parts are very difficult to find).
