Okay guys!. I dont know what to do anymore!. Im hoping it not just me, but i CAN NOT stop cleaning my cars!. its been getting worse over the years to the point i even notice... It does not matter if its a 20 year old beater, or a showroom new car, I must clean it EVERYDAY, sometimes multiple times.... Microfiber the paint, Wax once a month, micro the inner wheelwells, wax the lights, rims, even been known to WAX the DASH WOOD GRAIN!!!(last week tbh) If i have anyone in the car, I MUST clean it, that day, or i will feel uneasy seeing the dirt on the freshly shampooed rugs!. The dash i wipe down with protection a few times a week, the leather also gets treated with leather care, a couple times a week. Forget about the motor. I took a Toothbrush spent 6hrs cleaning the motor... I even waxed the valve covers!.. When i clean the interior, i have removed door panels to clean behind them.. removed parts of the dash & seats!. Even removed bulbs to clean them... Yes! I removed my taillight to clean the bulbs, and as luck would have it the neighbor seen and asked if i needed a hand, i declined and said i was just changing a bulb..

The neighbors are starting to look at me a little funny, when i spend 10 mins everyday cleaning it..
Even my friends are starting to think im a little "off" when i ask them to make sure they have no dirt on shoes, or please dont touch anything.

Dont even get me started on the OCD fluid changes.....

4K oil, 15K for every other fluid. even differential

Just making this post, i wanna clean it.... but its clean already..

Who else goes through this??

I am the same way, just not as bad as you. When people ride in my car I feel the need to vacuum the entire interior and re apply the meguiars interior protectant.

Waxing once a month isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things, you're keeping your paint nice and protected.

But if I were you I'd be sure you're using a pure wax. Cleaner waxes do remove a microscopic amount of paint, not a lot and likely you may never wear your paint off constantly using cleaner waxes but it's a risk nonetheless with such thin paint on modern cars.

But here's some advice. Learn to live with the dirtiness others bring into your car. It makes them feel welcome and you're going to clean it anyways. I let people track dirt into my cars and eat and drink. Just about the only thing I don't allow is smoking because that will actually ruin the new car smell on top of infusing the car with eau d'ashtray.

It's a form of relaxation. Everybody has something they do. Don't worry about it. I don't think it counts as OCD. OCD is when you have to check 16 times to see if you turned off the coffee maker.

OCD is also when you walk into a building and gotta come out the same door you went in.

Its only a "Disorder" when it interferes with the rest of your life, so...

As others have mentioned, feel free to drop by my place anytime! And believe me you will have your work cut out for you!

Or spend a lot of money buying cleaning supplies, waxes, etc. LOL

Nice job OP, there's nothing wrong with keeping your vehicles nice.

If you want to clean That Immaculate of a car...if you are ever in Columbus OH, i could introduce you to a Vibe that would make you beak down in tears (and not in a good way).

It's my buddy's car,Love the guy to death, but cleaning a car just isn't in his vocabulary. (IE:I'm a Slob, and it gives me the Willies to get into his car...)

it could use a lot of OCD TLC

I'd go over that engine bay a few more times. Still looks dirty to me.

It sure beats sitting in front of the boob tube all day watching shows! At least you're on your feet doing something. Sitting is one of the worst things for you. Keep at it but let people sit/ride in the car like normal. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate someone doing that to you as a passenger.

As a teenager, I worked as a carry-out (remember those days!) for a grocery store. Some of the cars I had to put groceries in gave me the willies, the stench especially.

You need another hobby.

Girlfriend/wife?

Exercise?

Side business (you can OCD other cars...)? (at least you'd make $)

Unless you TRULY enjoy it - please don't waste so much of your precious time on this earth doing something so meaningless.

Oh - I got it. I'll buy my next car (used of course), let you drive it for a few months (for free), and then I'll take it back

Like other have said, if you're ever in the area I have a dirty Camry waiting to be cleaned. There's countless bird poops and even snow slop on the sides still (I'm in Arizona!) wheels are awfully dirty...
