Obesity

I rarely eat fast food. I usually go to a real restaurant and get real steak or chicken and I'm still gaining weight.
That’s because even normal food in US is loaded with growth hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides and all sorts of nasty things. I’m pretty sure US has one of the worst, if not the worst quality of food in the western nations.

a lot of factors contribute to todays very UNHEALTHY population + obesity is just an outward sign!!! type II diabetes is a lifestyle disease caused by YOU + contrary to mainstream $$$$ medicine YOU CAN CURE it!!! theres a lot of good true info on line to CURE metabolic syndrome that leads to type II diabetes BUT only YOU can fix that, NO drugs needed!! another issue is hormones for us older guys, GET them CHECKED!!!

Thread is almost 2 years old but maybe this horse isn't dead yet?
LOL! Yep.
I used to catch myself often , when just messing around and scanning the threads, Then about to jump right into the subject only to notice..... "wait a minute, these threads are only about 4-5-6 years old !" WoW, Then DELETE DELETE DELETE my comments.....

In the south often times one will hear: Yeah, Old Jim.... poor guy. Committed suicide with a fork and a spoon. But he went out satisfied and happy!

Absolutely! I literally go to the gym so I can eat more with less detriment lol.

If I lived near a southern BBQ backwater place, I don't think I would be able to help myself everyday.

But clothes are expensive, and I also don't want to buy new clothes lol.

LoL, like a fool in the 1980s I would jog 4mi on week days and then 10mi on Saturdays thinking that was off setting the effects of my smoking:rolleyes:. Glad I cut that habit out long ago.

Go to Europe for a few weeks and maintain same diet. I bet you’ll see 10-15 lbs disappear. Even “healthy” food is not healthy here

Running or smoking? ;) That amount of running is probably good for 99% of population.
Doing too many hours of high intensity cardio every week probably isn't the best for some people, but a half hour a day 5 times a week would be beneficial for almost everyone.

It would be good to know if you are in the 1% where you are prone to scarring of the heart and arteries before you decide to do a marathon.

Excessive wheat, sugar, and salt consumption. Fast food is cheap, junk food is cheap, both are convenient.
It isn't necessarily the wheat that's bad as 100% whole wheat ie not refined is good for you. Unfortunately alot of companies put dough conditioners, sugar, and natural flavors (if it's a good product it should already naturally taste good.) I'm all for keeping government over reach out but the USA allows 130 plus ingredients in food that are banned in the EU.

Not 100% sure on this one. It happens to me the same when I travel anywhere. Time away from the fridge is powerful as is being in motion all day and evening

It is true - many countries just eat better and fresher than we do. And not even allow our GRAS additives

As for exercise I am glad they are finding resistance and weight training are better for blood sugar control and insulin resistance than pure aerobics

Oh . Sorry. Gave up smoking long ago. Disability from so many spine issues from neck to toes has cut out nearly all physical activities I always enjoyed to take care of myself. There was a time I even made a challenge (and I won it) that I would get out jogging every single day for one whole year. A straight unbroken line of 365 days and I won that challenge by the hardest. Several times things could have sidetracked me but I fought on and won it.

What food is loaded with growth hormones?
