It just price dropped from 250$ to 150$ its the best bluetooth adapter you can buy pretty much.. without getting into actual expensive snap-on and dealer tools.

you use it to connect to your tablet/smartphone with an app such as torque.

I prefer using a smartphone vs laptop.

also this can do can protocol I dont think the one you mentioned supports it.

Here is some pics old generic 25$ elm327 china adapter

and obdlink mx

the obdlink mx also comes with obdwiz software+license so if your laptop supports bluetooth its fully useable on that as well as tablet/smartphone.

Note the shortness of the new one. its also a fresh hardware version that was manufactured sept-4-2012.

Do you have this model and use it? If so, how do you like it?

I see there is an ELM 327 Bluetooth adapter on Amazon for 15 bucks. At that price, I don't know why I don't just order one today!

You can get them for around $10 on ebay, if you don't mind waiting a few weeks to get it from China. I have the Blue and Orange colored one, and it works. The software that is included isn't very good.

they are also know to not work well with certain systems
such as early 2000's fords

something the new one I purchased does fine.
