Does anybody have experience with PC-based OBDII scanners/software? I’m looking to purchase one, but don’t know which one to buy or which software to used. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

I have a Palm version of this one

The also have a PC and Pocket PC version. You can get cheaper ones at Harbor Freight, but theirs is pretty sophisticated. Software updates for life. The only extra costs are for very specific codes for GM, Ford, etc. Not sure if the less expensive code readers even pick up the manufacturer specific codes. Be sure and get one that reads CAN.

Check out the Innova 3100c at Wally's.This can read manufacturers specific codes as well as generic.Look carefully at the package the one with the USB cable included is newer and is CAN compatible, the one without is ODB ll only. You will see a small USB cable picture on the right side lower with the word FREE though it.It includes PC software and updates itself over the internet.Works very well.
