For the first time ever, I bought a quality garden hose (its the silver one with a yellow stripe from Lowe's. I think other people here have the same one). The boss put a plastic nozzle on it maybe a year ago and now the nozzle needs to be replaced but I cannot remove it! The fitting on the end of the hose appears to be brass. I THINK the nozzle is is plastic. It's a little hard to get a good grip on the nozzle to twist hard enough. Any suggestions?

Channel lock pliers. Wrap the jaws with tape if you want to keep the original finish on the hose end.
I sometimes wrap teflon tape around my garden hose & spigot male ends to keep this from happening.

Just cut the end off and buy a new piece.
Penetrating oil?
Put the nozzle lightly on a vice. Spray some WD-40 on it then pry it with a pair of plyers. Dont overtighten as you will mess up the end and ruin the hose. Going forward try a little anti-sieze. I use just a little at the begining of every season and it comes off with no effort at the end.
I bought one of those hoses, cost me about $50 and the [censored] thing got a hole rubbed in it. You should be able to hold the hose by the hex with a wrench and twist the nozzle off with pliers. If that didn't work I would try to break the plastic.
Squeeze too tight and the parts will deform.
So give it your best shot, but be prepared to put on a new end. No big deal.
