Went to HF and picked up the fireman's nozzle linked to above: https://www.harborfreight.com/home-...tors/super-deluxe-hose-nozzle-62470.html. We'll see how long this lasts.

Good googly moogly! That thing better last 20+ years!

We have one of those in our shop at work... it is definitely skookum.

Edit-Just make sure it's pointed the right way... I may have sprayed a light on the ceiling with it on accident once.

Much prefer the long narrow trigger, over twisting and turning the front-end of the applicator.
Mine last a couple years. Usually pay around $7 at Walmart. Don't let the spring-loader in the longer handle/trigger freeze up - then try to squeeze it. That ruins them quickly. When temps border 40 degrees or less, I unscrew it and bring those applicators inside the house. Last much longer that way.

Oh!.... one more thing! Never buy the plastic ones.

Not bad, but the one below has the old-school handle squeeze option that I like better.
I may consider this one for next year.

That looks nice for general use. The fire nozzle flows a lot of water if you do stuff like watering the lawn or garden, filling animal waterers/etc.
