Yup, and M1 as well as Motorcraft are right up there too

Not sure as to the validity of his testing methodology, but I find that interesting anyway.

I was almost sold until I realize it was nothing but another marketing hype for that Oil Extreme thingy.

His bottom line is: no additive in the world works, they only make things worse (so never buy them) EXCEPT one: @#$%@#$ (buy it!!)

2. 5W30 Oil Extreme, API SM conventional = 110,286 psi The Company claims this oil contains their proprietary formula of calcium petroleum sulfontate EP (Extreme Pressure) technology that is NOT found in any other motor oil. They also claim that it will provide 5 to 7 more HP, 7 to 10% better fuel mileage, cut engine wear in half, and will extend drain intervals two or three times safely. This oil is endorsed and promoted by Tech Author David Vizard. And he was so impressed by this oil’s performance that he also became a share holder in the Company. The “Dynamic Wear Testing Under Load” performed here, supports their claim regarding wear protection. This product’s hype about that, turns out to be true. zinc = 765 ppm phosphorus = 624 ppm moly = 52 ppm calcium = 7,652 ppm TBN = 23.2

23 tbn...

Hehehe.
The first time I saw this posted the guy who actually did the testing posted it in a forum. I found the results interesting however this is only a single job an oil has to accomplish. There is more than just film strength to take into consideration.
And although film strength is important one has to consider how much film strength does a particular engine require. And if the oil has double what required then anything more than required is a waste and instead of concentrating on that particular point perhaps concentrating on another aspect might be smarter,depending on the engine.
For example lets say my motor only requires a film strength of 80000psi,but it tends to demolish tbn. Then I would be smarter to find an oil tailored to my motor rather than focus on film strength.
Its like many here say. Its not one aspect of an oil,its all of them. And that's why some engines run better on different oils than others,because they are different and require different strengths.
I admire the fact that oil formulators can formulate oils that work over such a broad spectrum of engines. Given all of the differences its a miracle one oil can work well in so many different engines.
And its why if I drove a Toyota I would use tgmo 0w-20. Its designed for their engines and optimal in them.
All the oem's actually. They have oils custom made for their specific engines and have them formulated to maintain an optimal condition.
Just rambling..............

First oil change with M1 0w40 last week and it didn't make the list

Should have listened to the guy in another forum that cured his oil consumption with..

14. 20W50 Castrol GTX ,API SN conventional = 96,514 psi
zinc = 610 ppm
phos = 754 ppm
moly = 94 ppm
