It might be a Runflat. Several MB's came with them.

What did they say when you mentioned this? Surely they knew they had this bent/broken wheel.

Makes me sad to see people let their Mercedes turn into a hooptie. When my wife and I had our ML350, we didn't have lots of money but we took very good care of it. Some people just don't care.
