Normal engine oil Temp?

As previously mention by ARCO the guns are not all that accurate in some situations, the best way to get an accurate temp is with a thermocouple, you can get stick on ones that plug into a DVOM that has a temp port or a stand alone unit (under $20)

IR gun on the black metal oil pan (ideal for IR reading) corresponds within 1 deg F of my oil temperature gauge.
