Non leaking Duracell battery?

I had 6 "D" Duracell batteries completely destroy a very expensive 2 size extended Mag light. They are so corroded in that I'm going to try and soak the whole flashlight in diesel to see if I can get them out... unless someone has a better idea? Maybe a gallon of WD-40? Even if I get the batteries out I'm wondering how badly they damaged the aluminum.. and if I can actually clean it up.

Had a 5 D battery mag light that leaked. Spent several tries getting the batteries out. Then used a brake wheel cylinder hone to clean barrel. Then found switch was bad then tossed it into the trash.

Sorry for the confusion on this humor thread. I posted a picture involving a Duracell battery, after posting I took a second look at the picture and thought it might not be appropriate for BITOG, so I deleted the picture.
I usually put a brand new 9 volt battery for the pickup inside of my 1994 Taylor 815 CE acoustic guitar every time I change the strings. I put a Duracell in and it was a brand new battery, in a couple of months it was starting to leak. I caught it before it got onto the woodwork inside the guitar but it did some slight damage to one of the connectors of the battery. I cleaned it up as best I could and then put corrosion X Aviation on it. That's the last Duracell battery I will ever buy in my life.

I'm almost positive the switch is trashed... and I'm sure mine would need to be honed out as well. Bummer 
To clean up battery corrosion, Soak the item in vinegar. I work on my old radios and when the battery terminals and case get corroded I soak the stuff in white vinegar and use Q tips on the spring terminals.
I never buy Duracell.
Awesome suggestion, I just happen to have a jug of white vinegar laying around.. I'm going to give that a shot!

I have had several duracell batteries leak and destroy things. I figured thats just what happened when you forgot the batteries in for too long, but after quite a bit of web research it seemed many, many others had the same problem with duracell, but not the other big brand. Well I am sure any battery can leak, its just how frequent and how long does it take. I have since switched to the other one and haven't had a leaker since - its been many years.

I used to think the same way, maybe I was leaving the batteries in things for too long. But I used to buy only Duracell, because I thought they lasted longer (really more about the name
)... once I tried some other brands no more leaking. So now no more Duracell I just switched to Ikea rechargeable AA and AAA batts (made in Japan) a few years back and never looked back, have some extras on hand and they keep change really well when not in use.
Another one for the Duracell wall of shame.
