Nokian Summer Tires

I have no first hand experience about Nokian summer tyres but I was told by my buddy, who is sales manager at the local tyre dealer, that the Nokian summer and 4x4 tyres are very good. Nokian winter tyres are still today the ones that other brands are compared to.

Here are some opinions about zLine:

I have them on my Stilo MW in 215 45 17 and they are great. Grippy in rain and dry, decently stiff side walls, low noise for a performance summer tyre. Not sure about tread life, I've only done 5k on them, but it should be good.
Compared to my previous Dunlops Fast Response they are better in everything, not a massive difference, but a difference. In this price range they are best buy.

We have zLine (205/50R17) on Volvo S40 and they are decent summer tires.
Check your local library for CR test from Nov 2013 (I think).

They placed it below Pirelli P Zero, Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Yokohama ADVAN Sport V105 but above Continental Extreme Contact DW, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, Hankook Ventus V12 evo2.

I would buy the cheapest in your size from top 5, unless ultimate grip or tread wear (PSS) or wet performance (P Zero) are required.

Thanks for the Replys from far away! I have not even heard of some of those cars you drive.

krzyss, Yes you are right, Costco is having their sale on the PSS this month.

I put 245/45x17 Nokian Zlines on my 2006 AUDI A6 Avant last Summer and have found them to be an excellent tire. I've run earlier version Nokian Summer tires in the past and have alwasy been impressed by the performance. Yhey are pretty soft UTOQ-wise so I'm not expecting great tread life. I've found that rotation is quite important with Nokians All Season and summer tires. I'm not sure why as their snows don't seem to hyper-critical rotation wise. The Zlines are pretty reasonably priced for the quality you get I feel.
