Noisy engine

I am new here. I have been reading and am learning a lot about oils on this great web sight.
My question is what oil would be good for a noisy 350 chev with 59,000 miles. There is no knocking or ticking.The engine runs good.It just seems to be noisy from the bottom end.I now use Shell 5w30. Phil

What year Chevy? My friend always used a conv 20W50 in his early 70s Nova.

It is 1984 in a vette.

Try a 10w-40

Yes, you probably need a thicker oil to cure the noise problem. Your engine clearances are probably too wide for a 5w30.
