Noisy 4th of July Eve

Our whole county has been shaking for the last couple days, probably the most I've heard in years. Our dog doesn't care one way or ther other. Loud noises, thunderstorms, whatever just don't bother her.

However.....let the Amazon/UPS/Fedex/Mail guy walk up on the porch, that she can hear (and it's a concrete slab) and barks her fool head off.....

She's special that one. If there were a doggy short bus, she would definitely be riding it.

I flew in tonight into St Louis right about dusk. From Kansas City on there were 1000's (not exaggerating at all) of firework displays as far as your eyes can see. Many professional, but 100x more of the hand blown off home fireworks. They are still going off 2 hours later.

Our elderly female Pit fears fireworks & thunderstorms, While the 2 Pit puppies don't care in the slightest.

I've grown to hate fireworks & the 4th of July in general because the fires that get set on dry years. And where I live....Right on the Trinity Bluff overlooking Downtown which is a great spot to watch the cities firework show which brings a bunch of people trying to camp on my lawn/street.

Sounds like a war zone in my neighborhood. People ignore the law and 99% of what they fire off are illegal - some sound like at least M80s or more. The cops can't/won't do anything about it unless someone blows their hand off or blows up a car, then they will respond, lol.

Probably the same everywhere. We get a lot of 'someone is shooting a gun, and I KNOW its not fireworks' calls. Of course you have to check every one of those out. You don't have a lot of time to be writing tickets for fireworks when there's 20 othe 'gunshot' calls stacked up.

I'm sure lots of people are also shooting guns.

We didn’t have much here either. A few pops here and there, but they were up there.

I also felt it was too dry so I didn’t buy any fireworks. Didn’t want to be responsible for burning someone’s wheat field.

I didn’t buy anything, clean conscience, also money saved.
