same people that booed Mike Schmidt right? from a city that idolizes a a fictional character (Rocky) instead of their own real life champ Joe Frazier.

Welcome to Philly baby! We are going to eat you guys alive! There is no escape!

NOBODY is taking the Gigantes in this series. Just remember though that the best team doesnt always win in baseball...*cough* 93' and 03' Giants *cough*
If Doc Halladay stays in the strike zone like he usually does that could be bad news for him because the Giants lineup rarely takes a pitch. There will not be very many looking strike 3 calls. I got a funny feeling about Juan Uribe this series....

The phillies and their fans are terrible people. When one of their pitchers nearly hit the head of a Giants batter, they all exclaimed joy.

But I've hated the phillies far before that. They are a bunch of hotheads that get away with anything. Vs the Yankees a few years back, or last year, they slide for the catcher and not the plate.

Their stupid pitcher kicked a chair and broke his foot. They are just terrible all around.

Im a Yankees Braves fan, but I dont know what I'd like more: the Yankees to win or the Phillies to lose.

I was at last nights game. There were two phillie fans directly in front of me and other than a few light hearted comments by Giants fans it was all very positive. In general the Giant battery chucker fans only come out for dodger games. I have been a fan since I was a little kid and I have never seen the crowd as insane as it was last night. People stayed in their seats for half an hour after the game. A full hour later there were still at least 10k people there chanting around the park.

Too bad so few people outside of California and Texas would watch it. I say Yankees vs Giants is much more compelling from a historical and ratings standpoint. Either way the Gigantes have way better pitching staffs than either AL team so...

I dont mean to get ahead of myself as this series is by no means over and last night proves that good ol Charlie is willing to do whatever it takes to advance when he put in Oswalt in the 9th.

A heart braking loss by the Giants tonight. Errors have been rampant in all series of this postseason. I don't think we're seeing tight games as I would expect world class play from all parties but am not getting it. I think some are nervous and either losing concentration, half doing it or over trying.

Texas 3-2
SFran 3-2

Like I said, Im a die hard Yankees and Braves fan, but somehow have more vested in the Giants at the moment. It might have something to do when I took a vacation there and had the time of my life. Also, they seem very humble and on the down-low. San Francisco is the best place in the USA as far as I'm concerned. Just put an end to the big earthquakes.

last night the weather was not very good which may have contributed to a few of the miscues. The margin for error with the Giants is just too small for them to win with play like that and this series the games have been decided by whatever team plays the best in the field.

on a non baseball note I think having a world series with this Giants team and all its characters would bring a lot more non baseball fans into the game. I mean who wouldnt want to see Mitch Kramer from dazed and confused striking out A rod and Jeter? or little Cody Ross or the tubby Panda Sandoval, 5150 Brian Wilson with his just for men beard or the 250 pound shortstop Juan Uribe swinging out of his shoes every at bat? more compelling than the dull phillies imo (even if they arent as known or good on paper)

You're right. I missed the first couple of innings, but it seems the Giants got some help on a Chase Utley error and went on to win the pennant.

Welcome home party in San Francisco!!!

I tell ya, watching Wilson pitch is about as nerve racking as it gets. BUt it does get done. I loved seeing the portraits some of the fans made of the Wilson volleyball from Castaway with a beard.

Go Cliff Lee! Giants played well. I thought the Phillies would have no trouble with this team. Oh well.

Chase Utley is one of the most overrated players I have ever seen. Watching him play 2nd base is like some kind of goofy circus act. Brian Wilson is out of his mind. Watch his Jim Rome interview on youtube lol

almost everyone on the east coast is calling the Rangers a heavy favorite because why again?.......um they beat a very old Yankee lineup with a mediocre pitching staff. If the rangers played in the NL west they would have finished right there with the Rockies in 3rd place. No team in the AL has a pitching staff like the Giants and its not even close. If the Giants played in that band box of a yard they would have scored 800 runs too.
let me ask this: If the Phillies had won the nlcs would they have been favored over the rangers?...um yeah I rest my case
