Hey guys, ive got a 2009 Nissan versa 1.8S sedan 6 speed manual transmission with 22K miles that I bought new. Its my first new car that ive bought, owned an older accord and camry in the past. I just wanted to post my impressions of the car and the ownership so far if anyone is interested in this car.
Likes:
Inexpensive to buy- Got mine with all the bells and whistles for 13K out the door. Annother 700 bucks if i wanted the automatic instead.
Fuel efficient- I live in NJ and commute into NYC for work, even in traffic, i average 32mpg, on the highway, im averaging 39mpg.
Nimble to drive- Very easy to maneuver even in heavy traffic
Steady and compliant comfy ride on the highway, ive done many roadtrips, most noteworthy was boston to Oklahoma, ride is great, seats are comfy and easy on the back, suspension is nice and soft.
Trunk space is big for a small car.
All the seats are big, rear seat space is huge for a car this size

22K miles on the odo, weird rattles from time to time
6 speed manual gearbox is notchy, not smooth as I would have liked it. My old camry had a much better gearbox.
Doing engine maintenance is a nightmare, the engine compartment is really jammed in there and accessing some areas is near impossible without removing other parts.
Overall, ownership has been fun, and I plan to keep my car for the next 5 years minimum, but I am not that confident that the car will age as well as my old accord or camry did.
