Hey guys, my nissan versa 2009 clutch has been making a funny noise on very cold days (30s-50s). For the first 10 minutes or so, everytime I press the clutch I get a grating/harsh noise, Ive owned manual transmissions in the past, never had this type of noise. Car is a 2009, 22K miles on it. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

No problems with actuation or feel, just this occasional noise on cold days or if the car has been sitting for a few days.

Car is under warranty, dealer wants $115 for diagnostic if he dosent find any problem, otherwise its under warranty. Kinda [censored] in my opinion. First and Last Nissan thats for sure

Just a FYI, most clutch parts are considered "wear" items and not generally covered by most warranties.

Also, it is very subjective in that they can lay claim the wear is due to abuse.

My advice if they claim that it is abuse, keep your cool and kindly run it up the chain to Nissan corporate. I had a current generation Tacoma that was know to have premature clutch issues. Those that kept cool and did not rant and rave, usually got Toyota to give a 100% courtesy repair coverage or partial coverage.
